De-Tension & Hardware Audit
Old strings are safely removed, machine head bushings checked and snugged, bridge saddles inspected for burrs that snap strings, and strap buttons tightened.
Botanical Tonewood Cleanse
The bare fretboard and headstock are treated with Clarity Wash — our 100% silicone-free, pH-neutral formula that lifts grime and sweat without clouding vintage nitrocellulose or poly finishes.
Fretboard Deep Hydration
Dark tonewoods (Rosewood, Ebony, Pau Ferro) are deeply fed with Resonance Balm, using pure cold-pressed botanical lipids (Jojoba and Sweet Almond) to prevent fretboard shrinkage and seasonal fret sprout. Read why commercial lemon oil isn't safe for your fretboard.
Mirror Fret Polish & Strobe Calibration
Frets are micro-polished to remove oxidation and friction drag, nut slots lubricated with PTFE/graphite compound to eliminate tuning “ping”, fresh strings fitted with neat luthier locking wraps, mechanically pre-stretched, and calibrated to concert pitch using LuthierScan Pro strobe precision.

To maintain the highest level of care and focus, The Complete Guitar operates as a private artisan workbench rather than an open retail store. All services are arranged in advance with complimentary doorstep collection across Dundee, or by specific scheduled appointment.
How does the free collection service work?
When you book a restring or setup, we arrange a suitable evening time to collect your cased guitar from your home or workplace in Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Monifieth, Newport-on-Tay, or Tayport. Once completed (24–48h), we return it directly to you.
What if I supply my own strings?
You are welcome to supply your favourite string brand (Ernie Ball, D'Addario, Elixir, Rotosound, etc.) with your guitar, or we can provide premium strings from our workshop stock at retail price.
What if my guitar buzzes or has high action?
A restring includes a visual inspection of your neck relief and bridge saddles. If your guitar has significant action, truss rod, or fret wear issues, we can recommend upgrading to The Complete Setup (£95) or The Complete Fret Service (£115).
